![]() But I'm wondering if maybe I could open it up and see if there's a way to change the X and Y size independently. I saw the plugin that can change the grid size, but it's still a square grid. I was thinking maybe there's a plugin that could coax RPG Maker into using a rectangular grid or an isometric grid, but I didn't find anything. But if I want to use tile variations, like the cracked floors, that seems like it would get complicated, I'd need several versions of tile combinations. So I could just put 2 floor objects in each RPG tile and operate normally. (presently each floor tile is 4x4 units in 3D, and renders as a 192x96 pixel rectangle) There's some sort of optical illusion that makes them look taller, but I've measured them in Gimp and they are square. Oddly enough, the floor tiles above are actually 2:1 from this camera angle, so 2 tiles together makes a 1:1 square. ![]() I've got a couple ideas, but I'd be very grateful for any thoughts and experience you can share before I jump in. So I'm not sure how exactly to use graphics like this in RPG Maker itself. I might consider using huge character sprites like that, I'm sure it would look good, but I'm worried that you wouldn't be able to see much on screen. As you can see, one of the characters is twice as big. The main thing, I think, is to keep a consistent perspective angle, which means square tiles tend to look bad. ![]() The characters were originally designed to fit MV's 48x48 tiles, 1-wide, 2-tall, but they never matched quite right, so I figured I'd do everything with 3D graphics. I'm not 100% sure if the scale between characters and environment is correct, this whole process still needs a lot of tweaking. ![]()
